Thank you again. Your advice confirms my guess that most of webcam models must be using Internet delivered by a cable. We call it ADSL in South Africa. I was advised, not to follow this route, as here only a quadruple-bonded line, specified as 16Mbps line manages to deliver overseas uploads of 600Kbps. It is costly and still without any speed guarantees. The later may be provided by the ISP, for still higher fee.
True wireless HSUPA+, the upload upgrade to Vodacom's 3G seem to stretch, to upload speeds of 3Mbps, and is almost symetric against download speeds. While the nearest "cellphone tower" is a stone throw away, my speeds and Pings are all over the place. When people come from work, it all takes a definite dive.
I stopped worrying about my laptop, as my encoder works smoothly, but am wondering, if a giant 3G directional antenna is going to do anything, but spoil my facade. Still, the antenna guys say, my signal has do go closer to -84Db, and are promising 3G haven ever after. Quote
